July 31 - Work area

I decided to start using the second monitor again. It makes such a difference when editing pictures.

July 29 - History

When he took office, I was cutting tomatoes in Einstein's kitchen. I am getting to know and understand a little more of how things work in America and felt inspired by photographing the cover of the magazine that is History in this nation (it lays on the shelf everyday). Although almost 2 years have gone by, I still feel proud of being American (and I am not one yet). I love the realization that this is a great country, with good people, hard working people, and people with a good heart.

July 27 - Piggy

Piggy is our way of adding some fun (green) color to the decor at home and know where to put coins from purses, car, pockets, wallets. Found a coin doing laundry? Piggy wants it.The vacuum made a coin noise? Piggy wants it. In the end of the year, the heavy piggy will become extra cash for Eve. I should get myself a pink piggy!

July 24 - Wholly Crepe

We went to the mall and I did some shopping today but the fun part was that we tried something new. There is a new Crepe place inside the Chapel Hills Mall, open for about 2 months now and we tried. I just loved it. And I loved it even more when I learned the crepes are gluten free, which I don't have problems with, but lots of people do. I think it was superb food and really filling.

July 20 - Notes

Notes is where everything starts. The scrabble in the morning, when I wake up, the shopping list, the birthdays, the things to do, the websites to come back, the quick phone number when on the phone, addresses, maps, random drawings, insights, ideas to try. Notes lives to remind me. He has a big brain and lots of pages. When I forget, he doesn't.

July 19 - Purple Majestic Mountains

Living close to the mountains is a privilege. when I go to work in the morning, I have the luck to be able to see the light saying good morning to the mountains, kissing the very top with the rays of light and making everything majestic and purple. No matter how many sunrises and how many sunsets I have seen, I am never disappointed in looking at the mountains. Today they were really purple and justify the famous majestic purple.
I know my foreground is horrible and does not do justice to the mountains, but I was happy to be able to capture the real colors as they showed today. It was that or nothing. Had a looked for another foreground and I would have missed the light.

July 16 - Wild cabbage

Another 3 day weekend in Crested Butte area (without computer this time, so only now I can upload my picture of the day). This time, looking for wild flowers, since summers is supposed to bring lots of them in the mountains. We drove lots of dirty road on the way to the town and stopped in this beautiful spot with wild cabbages all over the place. I liked the lighting that hits the cabbage through the aspens and the 2 dark trees to escort them before the aspens on the back.

July 15 - Sunset

Yesterday I caught the sunrise, today, the sunset. Well, there was no sun anymore by the time of the sunset, but the colors in the clouds seemed just like the ones I remember seeing when I fly. It just had that mood of after storm, close to me. Not too contrasty, not too moody. Just a typical end of a summer day.

July 13 - Deers in shade

In my way back home today, I saw two beautiful deer resting in a shaded area from the 90 degree weather. I only had my super wide angle lens, so this was as close as they look like although they were about 15 feet away. They didn't move :)

July 9 - Morning squirrel

Really early, noises in the porch...2 squirrels were looking for the peanuts we leave out there. The screen was closed and I didn't want to disturb them, so we carefully opened just enough to throw more peanuts and closed it again. He didn't want to share food with the other fellow...he climbed up to the bicycle seat and ate in peace.

July 8 - End of night

A Thursday night is like a Friday night for me :)
So I've been spending this week trying to back up my computer, month by month, in DVD's and with the lower temperature in town, I am enjoying some red wine (it actually SNOWED in the mountains...in JULY!).

It was a good, relaxing day. I went to the gym, did laundry, prepared some food for dinner, went to do some grocery shopping and talked to family online.
While going out, I found a new tablecloth that I really liked it. Slowly, we add more color to the home.
